BOOKS authors READ: #Spanking Author @CaraBristol
Welcome CARA BRISTOL to ROMANCE BECKONS!
I met Cara on-line when I was writing my books that incorporated the domestic discipline lifestyle. Her books -whether contemporary or out of this world sci-fi- are always great reads. I was hooked when I read her first book in the Rod and Can Society series, Unexpected Consequences.
Now, today, Cara is here to share about the books she reads while giving you the chance to win a book she wrote.
What was your favorite book as a teen?
I loved Devil’s Desire by Laurie McBain. Just mentioning it makes me want to re-read it. I’ve probably read it eight times. It’s dog-eared.
What book did you read that first inspired you to be an author?
No one book inspired me to become an author, rather it was a lifelong love of reading and writing. I’ve always written. I enjoyed writing term papers as a student, majored in journalism in college, became a reporter and then wrote fiction on the side. From teenage years on, I’ve devoured romances, but in the early 2000s, I started reading erotic romance. Back then, much of what I found was not well-written. Then I read Wicked Ties by Shayla Black, and I thought, “That’s the way it should be done.” The plotting and writing were excellent. That book gave me respect for the genre.
What was the last book you read, just for fun?
Well, all of them, but I topping the “fun” category was Seductive Powers by Rebecca Royce, which features a superhero as the hero. At first I didn’t think I’d like a “comic book” style hero, but Seductive Powers was so quirky and different. I loved it.
What upcoming release are you most looking forward to?
The Reaper series by debut author Lisa Medley. It’s a three-book erotic urban fantasy romance series about sexy soul-catchers who battle demons and still manage to get the girl. I read the first book, Reap & Repent, and I can’t wait for Reap & Redeem and Reap & Reveal. I think reapers are the new zombies, which were the new shifters, which were the new vampires. I was lucky enough to read an advance copy of Reap & Repent. It’s sexy, scary and funny.
Which of your own books is your favorite?
Of my books, I’m thrilled with the recent release of Terran, the second book in the Breeder sci-fi romance
series and I’m looking forward to the June 18 release of Long Shot, a Corbin’s Bend spanking romance novella.
Long Shot Blurb
Abby Delaney moves to Corbin’s Bend to work at her aunt’s antique store to recover from a painful divorce. She gets more than expected when she meets sexy, charming Harris Montgomery, a local businessman and tennis pro, a man who seems to be the exact opposite of her ex-husband. Through Harris, she discovers her submissive side when he introduces her to spanking good times, and she begins to trust herself again. But when the relationship progresses to a deeper level, she discovers Harris and her ex share more in common than she’d thought. With future happiness on the line, can she risk surrendering her heart on a long shot?
