Can a threesome work in real life?
Can a threesome work in real life? We have friends who prove this is possible, though perhaps they don’t share the racy history of our characters in The Reunion. My husband and I, who write erotic romance and romantic suspense under the pen name Adriana Kraft, believe in happy endings for all who fall in love, whatever their gender, sexual orientation or numerical combination. Naturally since we love to write (and read) erotic scenes, we tend to write characters with histories that provide us a reason to spice up the action.
In The Reunion, recently named a finalist in the 2014 Bisexual Book Awards, we feature characters involved in the adult film industry. Like some of our favorite feminist porn producers, they prefer story lines and directors that treat women with fairness and equality.
What does this mean for our characters and the development of their threesome? They’re open about their sexuality (if not always their feelings), they keep things edgy and sometimes kinky, and sex is an integral part of the rest of their lives. Lucky us – that means as their authors, we get to drop in on some sizzling scenes while they work out all the angles of their budding three-way relationship.
We’re so thrilled the judges for the Bi Writers Association Bisexual Book Awards liked our characters and their story enough to name the book as a finalist for this year’s award.
