My Excerpt comes from TOUCH My HEART, book two in the Heart And Soul Series which is set to be released on October 15, 2013. While book one was from the heroine's perspective, this book is told from the hero's point of view. In the excerpt I'm sharing today, William explains to Aubrey his expectations of their relationship. While he's grown up in a home that practiced DD, Aubrey had a more traditional upbringing so he's struggling with introducing the concept.

EXCERPT

“Breathe, sweet Aubrey, just breathe. Here’s my promise to you. I’ll do nothing to belittle you, degrade you. I don’t believe in humiliation – no leashes, no harnesses. I enjoy the lighter edge. And,” I paused, weighing each word and its potential effect on her, “mostly I enjoy the control, the dominance, while you will enjoy the submission. Does that sound better?”

She nodded and I continued my explanation. “In some circles, I’d be considered simply the head of the household. Maybe this description feels better to you?”

“That sounds very domestic,” she answered. Aubrey was definitely intuitive, puzzling out  my insinuation without the need for words.

Her pupils have dilated and her pulse is racing under my fingers.“You like it though, don't you? You believe you’ll thrive in this relationship. It already feels right to you.”

“I d – don’t know.” she shivered when she answered me and I knew I’d found the place where her and my needs met. I was more confident than ever that we could live in a domestic discipline relationship much like my own parents shared. I wasn’t sure whose heart was thundering the fiercest… hers or mine.
