Rolling in Reviews

If reviews are a measure to go by for a book's success, my latest release is one of my best yet. Touch My Heart, Heart And Soul book #2, has been received very well and I'm over the moon.

Kim from Goodreads says, "Oh my gosh! I thought I was in love with William in Hold my Hand, I KNOW I'm in love with him now!"

When I chose to retell a portion of the first book from the hero's point of view, I worried readers would rebel and stay away from the book but this review confirms I did it right...

"With Hold My Hand, Paloma Beck spins the threads of a new erotic romance. The perfect balance of sweet romance and erotic kink, the love of William and Aubrey captures a reader and commands their story be heard. Touch My Heart takes those threads and weaves a tapestry that carries the reader to another level. In many ways, Ms. Beck delivers the story that the reader was left wanting at the end of Book 1.

For those who are afraid Touch My Heart is a rehash of Hold My Hand, fear not! Despite being told completely in William's voice, only a few pivotal moments are retold. To be perfectly honest, having the dominant male explain his motivations helps to create a deeper bond with the reader, one that was lacking in the initial telling. The induction of Aubrey into the domestic discipline lifestyle takes on a more sensual tone as William cultivates the woman of his dreams in the submissive blank slate that is Aubrey. Perhaps most enticing is the man's desire to build up the shredded self esteem of the young barista, almost at any cost."

I also debated on where I'd end this book and begin the final installment in the series that will come out next April. Should I use a cliffhanger or not? I lost sleep over this decision, went back and forth and changed it a few time. Then I closed my eyes and jumped... yes, I went for the cliffhanger and here's what one reviewer thought about that...

"So I fell head over heals with William when I read the first book in this series. He is a Dominant who knows what he wants and he wants Aubrey. The first book of the series is all Aubrey's POV. We learn why she is so insecure and how William get her over it. This book is Williams POV. We see him grow more and more in love with Aubrey as she grows more and more confident in herself. There is overlap between the books but I loved it. I remembered the scenes and where Aubrey's head was so it is cool to see William's take on everything.

This book does take you out past book one to see William and Aubrey finally admitting their love for each other. I will admit to tears at that point. We, the reader, knows how they feel but to finally see it.....priceless.......

William finally gets to take his little elf home to meet his parents. no shock that they adore her!! She also is supportive of everything he is dealing with in terms of his mother...sniff sniff......I was glad when William got to finally talk to Aubrey's parent to see how AWFUL they are in regards to her.

I was so happy with the way this book was moving and grooving that when the last few pages are read I had to back track and re-read to make sure I read it right. I was GASPING at this cliffhanger....I didn't see it coming and I will tell you that I cannot wait to see what the heck happens!!!" -Angie J, Twinsie Talk

Heal My Soul, Book #3, is scheduled to be released on April 1, 2014.

"You know, sometimes cliffhangers can be a good thing. I am really looking forward to 'Heal My Soul' coming out soon." -D Thomas, Goodreads
